Jakob Thomä

Jakob Thomae is one of the leading global experts on sustainable finance and long-term risks, and entrepreneur with a track record of incubating commercial and non-commercial sustainability solutions. He co-founded the 2° Investing Initiative entities in New York and Berlin and serves as Research Director of Theia Finance Labs. His book "Der Kill Score: Auf der Spur unseres ökologischen und sozialen Fußabdruck" explores the impact of sustainability on human lives
Over the past 10 years, Jakob has led the development of a range of sustainability solutions, with a focus on designing business models for both public and commercial goods. Jakob led the incubation of PACTA, the first methodology and tool to measure the alignment of financial portfolios with climate goals, and today the most widely used alignment methodology in the world. He led the negotations of the PACTA transfer to RMI in 2022. Jakob also co-led as Managing Director of 2DII the incubation of AssetResolution, now a commercial data company. Current ventures include MyFairMoney, 1in1000, and TransitionMonitor, as well as a venture on climate-related SME data.
Jakob is Special Research Fellow to the Japanese Financial Services Agency, and previously served as Academic Advisor to the Bank of England and EIOPA. He holds a PhD in Finance from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers. Jakob is also Senior Fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where he teaches a Green Finance course.

Anne Schoenauer

Anne Schönauer is Head of the tilt Program, focused on the developing climate-related data on SMEs. Prior to joining Theia Finance Labs, Anne worked as a research assistant at SOAS University of London in the area of decarbonising monetary policy. She also gained experience in the public sector, with experience at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the German international development agency, as well as at a public sector consultancy and an economic research institute. Anne holds a MSc. in International Finance and Development from SOAS University of London, where she specialised in sustainable finance and monetary policy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Bayreuth.

Jakub Cervenka
Product Owner
Jakub is a product owner working in the 1in1000 program, with a special focus on stress testing. Prior to TFL, Jakub worked as Financial Risk and Sustainability Consultant in Deloitte focusing on developing credit risk and market risk models as well as advising banks on their sustainability strategy.
Jakub also brings in experience from the European Central Bank where he worked in macroprudential stress testing modelling, investigating the feedback loop between the euro area banking sector and the real economy.
Jakub holds an MSc in Economics and International Financial Economics from the University of Warwick, where he specialized in monetary economics and applied macroeconomics. He holds a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the same university.

Linda Delacombaz
Junior Software Developer
Linda joined the 1in1000 Program in Berlin as a junior analyst in January 2022. She holds a BSc. in Life Sciences Engineering from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
During her studies, she joined the Zero Emissions Group (ZEG), a student association that works on multiple projects aimed at finding solutions against climate change.

Yahsmin Malik
Investor Relations Manager
Yahsmin Malik is Investor Relations Manager in the tilt Research Program. Her work focuses on fostering and promoting sustainability goals in equity capital markets. Previously, Yahsmin worked in investment banking with a focus on equity, as well as corporate and advisory investor relations. Yahsmin graduated in Business Administration and Marketing from City University, London.

Mauro implements software solutions to help researchers work in an efficient, transparent, and reproducible way. He often contributes as a developer or teacher to popular open software projects or communities (https://maurolepore.github.io/).
Prior to joining TFL, Mauro served as a software developer for ForestGEO, based at the National Museum of Natural History of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
He holds a PhD in ecology, conservation biology and geochemistry from The University of Queensland, Australia, and a Licentiate degree from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Tilman Trompke
Senior Analyst
Tilman Trompke is an analyst in the tilt programme. Prior to joining, Tilman worked at a German development agency (GIZ) and as a research assistant at an economic research group. He further brings experience in the public sector through his work at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and at a public sector consulting firm.
Tilman holds an MSc. in Economics from the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), where he focused on development economics. He also holds a BSc. in Economics from Humboldt University in Berlin.

Analyst
Antonio joined Theia Finance Labs as an analyst in September 2022. He works as part of the stress testing team in the 1in1000 program. Previously, he worked as a climate impact analyst for the Frankfurt based Climate tech “right.”, where he focused on the Paris agreement alignment and climate impact of individual companies and portfolios to different climate change scenarios. Before that, Antonio worked as a research assistant in the area of corporate liability.
Antonio holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration with a major in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics and a BSC in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg.

Kalash Singhal
Data Scientist
Kalash works as a data scientist in the tilt team. Before joining the team, Kalash worked at MSCI Inc as a Data Scientist where his areas of focus were the ITR methodology, target credibility framework, and conducting a comprehensive comparison between MSCI and SBTi's Temperature scores. Kalash holds a master’s degree (MSc.) in Management & Engineering focused on Data Science, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning from RWTH Aachen. During his studies, he got the opportunity at WZL to work on the latent space of Autoencoders. He also gained experience in the Data Science domain through past work experiences at CRIF and FarEye, working on Roboadvisory, ESG analysis, and credit risk analysis.

Bertrand Gallice

Prior to joining Theia in May 2023, Bertrand worked in data analytics applied to marketing, where he gained experience in developing econometric models and bringing them to production. His focus is to improve the stability and speed of the models developed in the 1in1000 team, in order to make them easier to adopt by financial institutions.
He holds a Master of Engineering from EIGSI La Rochelle, and a Msc in data science from DSTI.
