OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE BOARDS OF 2° INVESTING INITIATIVE FRANCE, GERMANY AND USA
Berlin / Paris / New York, December 23, 2020
Over the past 6 months, the Global Steering Committee (GSC) of the 2° Investing Initiative (2DII) network – consisting of the Boards of the French, German, and US entities – have validated a new and ambitious strategy and corresponding structural changes for the coming decade. Today, we want to share with you the first steps on this journey.
The network’s key research areas and activities will be organized in four areas – PACTA / climate scenario analysis, real-world impact analysis, sustainability and retail investing, and long-term financial supervision & risk management. The network is also creating a separate team focused exclusively on its work in emerging markets, and a team focusing on new research developments. Each research area is led by a dedicated head, allowing the organization to diversify and expand its leadership bench. These steps will also allow the organization to better adapt to and manage its significant growth over the past years, reaching the milestone of 40 staff members in 2021.
We would also like to inform you that the contractual relationship between Stanislas Dupré and the network has come to an end, due to disagreements that could not be resolved. In addition, Stanislas Dupré has recently taken the initiative to launch a commercial venture, ‘2° Investing’ Ventures. In order to avoid any ambiguity, we would like to inform you that ‘2° Investing’ Ventures is neither legally affiliated nor formally supported or approved by the 2DII network. Nevertheless, we look forward to seeing Stan continue his fight against climate change in other ways.
The Boards of the 2DII global network have also decided to take additional steps to reinforce our network to meet the challenges of the next decade. A set of more detailed communications updating our members, stakeholders, and broader community on these measures is planned over the next few months.
